◆ Henry Foley - Records of the English province of The Society of Jesus Vol VII
FORD, WILLIAM, Father (Irish), was recommended by Father Ignatius Brown, on July 5, 1675, for a fit successor to Father Stephen Rice, as Superior of the Irish Mission. (Oliver, as above.)

◆ George Oliver Towards Illustrating the Biography of the Scotch, English and Irish Members SJ
FORD, WILLIAM, was recommended by F. Ignatius Brown, on the 5th of July, 1675, as a fit successor to F. Stephen Rice, in the charge of his brethren employed in the Irish Mission. Further particulars I search for in vain : indeed at almost every step I have to regret the scarcity of documents, occasioned by the injury of the times, and the dispersion of the Irish Members of the Society, throughout every part of the Continent.
