Letter from Mr Thomas A Finlay SJ, writing from Maria Laach, to Irish Fr Provincial Edmund O'Reilly SJ. Reports his arrival at his destination, to which he had fled with five Italians from Rome. Refers to his journey there, and to his former companions of the Roman College whom he met along the way. Describes the scenes in Rome after the entrance of the Italian troops, and the effect of these events on foreigners and Catholics (including Jesuits) in the city. States that [Brs] Keating, Byrne and Weafer had not yet arrived, but are expected that day.
