The tables contain the names, addresses, occupations and other information relating to applicants to the Sacred Heart Branch of the Association. Applicants are both male and female, and the date of their application is given. Other information includes the last date on which alcohol was consumed, the style of emblem awarded (e.g., pin or brooch), and whether approval for membership was given or not. Insertions consist of sheets of paper of various sizes, with names and addresses [of further applicants].

Loose-leaf A5 pages with handwritten entries, accompanied by handwritten, typewritten and printed insertions. Kept together in a ring-binder (discarded for preservation reasons), and divided alphabetically by subject with tabbed sheets of card. Subjects relate to Church, school and community matters. Many entries relate to the arrangement of liturgy and devotions, eg, Feast days, confessions, novenas, benediction etc. Some relate to the need for clarification on some point or other of canon law and other regulations in relation to powers and faculties, e.g., the proper date for the celebration of a feast, the transfer of faculties etc. Others relate to customs regarding the daily lives of community members, eg. the movements of priests, brothers and scholastics outside the house, talking at table, fast days, the consumption of wine etc. School-related subjects include boys' retreats, school dramas, property (including the football field), membership of groups such as sodalities, and the Apostleship of Prayer. Insertions include correspondence the Provincial, various bishops and others.

On the inside cover Fr Robert Tyndall SJ has written: 'Father Rector's reference book. May 1950 I began this as I could find no up-to-date journal or guidance book in the Rector's Room.' Subjects of entries cover a range of Church, community and school matters. Many entries relate to arrangements made in relation to liturgy and devotions, eg, Feast days, confessions, novenas and benediction, and to ceremonies and timetables for special periods in the Church calendar, eg. Proposal re compulsory purchase of the college football field by the Railway Company

Documents including letters from solicitors and Jesuits, and newspaper cuttings, re. CIE's proposed compulsory purchase of the Crescent College playing field, owned by Mrs Pearse. Includes a number of letters from Irish Fr Provincial MacMahon to Fr Roche, Rector of the College on the subject (9 September 1945 - 15 June 1947,13 items). Some documents contain suggestions re. possible alternative fields, e.g., Cussen's field and Baker's field. Suggestion that the field be bought from Mrs. Pearse.

Professions of faith of Sacred Heart Community, Limerick

Lined notebook, into which is glued typewritten sheets containing the 'Professio Fidei Tridentina' (Creed of Pope Pius VI) in Latin. Signed beneath in ink by members of the Sacred Heart community in January 1911. Also signed and dated by other members in later years (10- 1956). Insertion is a printed document containing the 'Professio Orthodoxae Fidei' and the 'Formula Iurisiurandi' (both in Latin also). Signed by Fr John Carr, and dated 7 May 1934.

Photographs relating to the Centenary of the Sacred Heart College and Church, and to the Fourth Centenary of the death of St Ignatius Loyola. Include scenes from during and after the Thanksgiving Mass celebrated to mark the former, as well as photographs of Limerick Jesuit community members and others, such as Irish Fr Provincial Michael O'Grady SJ during the period of celebrations. Includes a group photograph of the cast of 'The First Legion', and a photograph of the stage used in the production. Minute book of the Limerick Branch of the Pioneer Total Abstinence Association of the Sacred Heart

Notebook with handwritten entries, including reports of branch council and sub-committees meetings. Subjects of discussions at council meetings included the purchasing of pins and emblems, candidates for membership of the Association, violations of the pledge by members etc. Excursions and fundraising were among the subjects of the sub-committees meetings. Also includes several pages of accounts, as well as a list of people and their contact details to whom packets or letters were sent, as well as the cost of the postage.

They include the names and addresses of the various benefactors and the amount of money donated or frequency of subscription to Sacred Heart Church and Crescent College, Limerick. Further information is sometimes given, such as the specific intention of the patron when giving donations (eg., for the repair of a building, or the maintenance of a sanctuary lamp); change of address; the patrons' status or membership of sodality, choir etc. One of the notebooks' title is 'List of Benefactors of the House & College for invitations to Plays etc.', and includes the number of tickets given to certain benefactors. The notebooks include several insertions, some of which are letters from the benefactors themselves.

Lined notebook with handwritten entries which record important dates in the history of the church, college and community. Lists the members of the community for each academic year and records the arrival of new members and the departure of the old, as well as last vows, illnesses, deaths and funerals. Reports on building work carried out, including a new shrine of the Sacred Heart, the re-decoration of Our Lady’s Altar, new altar rails, flooring, renovations etc., and the cost of work done, the craftsmen and architects involved etc.
Reports on the opening of the new organ in 1925. Includes a history of old organ and refers to fund-raising activities for the replacement. Where relevant references are made to current affairs, including the War of Independence, Civil War etc. Other
entries refer to feast days, special Masses, novenas and processions, as well as to special periods within the Church calendar, such as Lent and Christmas. Provincials' visitations are also recorded, as are the visits of other important guests. School events, such
as the beginning and end of terms, examinations and prize-giving, theatricals, debates, sports fixtures, excursions etc. also feature in the house history. Also contains several insertions, including newspaper cuttings: special ceremonies, debates, school tours, reviews of theatricals, prize days; leaflets: Lenten lectures & devotions; theatricals programmes. Another insertion is a handwritten addenda, which outlines the position of the Society in Limerick in relation to property, including the three Tontine buildings and other houses.

Includes a printed circular from the Rector requesting money ([1927], 2pp), and a letter from P. Liston, a pharmaceutical chemist in O'Connell Street, Limerick, offering a loan of £100 stg (27 September 1927, 2pp).
