◆ Francis Finegan SJ Biographical Dictionary 1598-1773
He was Parish priest at Drogheda in 1672, and after was an aspirant to the Society.
On January 9, 1672, the General, Father John Paul Oliva, empowered the Superior of the Mission, Father William Ó Rian, to receive Father Dracott into the Society pro articulo mortis. That the same permission was renewed on June 11, 1678 is evidence that Father Draycott had renewed his petition to be admitted to the Society.
The date of bis death is unknown and so was not recorded in the Society’s Necrology.
(Other obituaries of Irish Jesuits, notably that of Father Stephen Gelouse, were not recorded, or the correspondence captured in the troubled years of the Titus Oates’ Plot).
