He was the son of Peter White and Margaret Grant, and he was born in 1596, and he entered the Irish College, Salamanca on October 24, 1609. Both the student’s entry book at Salamanca and the entry book of the Jesuit Novitiate state that he was born in Spain. The latter source gives his birthplace more precisely as Bayona. He must have been sent or brought as a child to Ireland to do two years study under the celebrated John Flahy. he did two further years of study in Portugal before his admission at Salamanca.

He entered the Society September 1612, but left the Society on November 12, 1618, when he was studying Theology

Nothing further is known after Ent, but he seems to be identical with a Matthew Talbot who was at the College of Braga, apparently studying philosophy 1600-1601. A Matthew Talbot is also mentioned in the list of past students of the Irish College, Lisbon (1615)

He was born in 1601, and entered the Society in Portugal in 1617/1618. His name occurs in the Catalogus of 1619, and he is described as a Novice at Évora, and already fifteen months there. Nothing further is known of him in the Society.

A Paul Lombard took the student’s oath at Salamanca December 18, 1623. Father Paul Sherlock, in annotating a list of Salamanca students, seems to have identified both the former Novice and the student”- “Paul Lombard, of Waterford, 1623, entered the Society, but afterwards left it”.

He was born in Dublin, December 27, 1582, and had been a student at the Irish College, Lisbon, before he entered the Society at Rome, October 28, 1604 and sent to Belgium.

After his Noviceship he resumed his studies, but left the Society October 4, 1628.

He was a nephew of Dr Christopher Cusack, founder of the Irish College, Douai.

After his Noviceship he studied Philosophy at Coimbra, 1600-1601, but finished the course at the College of Braga. He was then sent for his Regency to Coimbra, and later to Madeira, where he was teaching Latin, 1607-1608.

His name then disappears from the records.
